Robber's Cave

This past weekend we enjoyed some time away from the hustle & bustle of our daily lives. We went with a group from our class at church to Robber's Cave State Park in Oklahoma. We talked about it all week and Carter was very excited about going "camping." I did my best to narrow down the number of photos to share, but be forewarned - I didn't do very well.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend,
even though it doesn't have much to do with camping.

We went on a hike Saturday morning and Carter
loved climbing the rocks. He did a great job and
will tell you himself "I'm a good hiker."

Carter's first canoe ride - he was a big help
with the rowing.

Most of the other kids were older, so Carter got to try
out a "big boy bike" - he did better going down the hill
than up it:).

You can't go camping without having S'mores, right?

We enjoyed sitting around the campfire in the evenings.
This was one of the few times Carter actually sat in
a chair, as opposed to sitting on the ground to
cover his legs with handfuls of dirt:).

Up, Up, and Away

Carter & I enjoyed a relaxing day to ourselves on Saturday. While Ryan was "whooping" it up in Aggieland, we went to the Plano Balloon Festival to watch the balloon launch and the nighttime balloon glow. We camped out on the hillside, ate dinner, played football, and watched all the people. We had a great time!

Yes, we did have to chase the ball down the hill a few times.

(Notice what he's wearing...)

Carter loved watching all the balloons come to life.

They launched about 30 balloons total.

For the balloon glow, they have a variety of balloons:
a daisy, buffalo, panda bear, alligator, etc.

Welcome

Welcome to our blog. I decided that since I'm not always good about emailing pictures to everyone, this would be an easy way to keep you up to date with our lives. I can't make any promises about how often I will post updates - we'll have to wait and see how well I do in the blogging world.

Things have been pretty typical with us lately, but here are a few recent pictures of our activities:

Carter enjoyed helping Nathan move in to "college"

He absolutely loves his "Gig 'em Aggies" jersey. He asks to wear
it at least once every day, and on the occasion that we tell him no,
it takes about 10 minutes to recover:).

Hanging out in Nathan's dorm room before the football game

We enjoyed being at A&M for the first game of the season -
even if it didn't turn out so well for the Aggies.

We took another trip to the Dallas Zoo with our playgroup.
Here we got to feed the birds - Carter preferred to
watch rather than hold the food.

Carter the Otter

Carter was lagging behind, when I turned around to encourage
him to speed up, this is what I found...
